In practice Metaphortean Research relies on rhetorical devices that have been intentionally short-circuited and rewired into alien instruments of elocution. This includes an excessive use of linguistic glitches --- puns, word-play, irony, metaphor, strategic misspellings, strategic intonation, hyperbole, neologism and ultimately the persona of the Metaphortean Researcher itself, an alter ego for amplifying and articulating ideas in the Metaphortean Style.
